Also, tune in every weekday morning at 7:20 a.m. for morning meditation. July 3 Cedar Bluff Liberty Day will begin at 4 p.m. in Cedar Bluff Town Park. Fireworks over Weiss Lake will begin at 9 p.m. March 30 Gadsden State Community College is accepting applications for several scholarships to provide tuition assistance to qualified students. May 2 Regulators Mc East Alabama Chapter is hosting a community event to raise money to pay off delinquent lunch accounts for Cherokee County School Students. The ride starts at 10 a.m. $20 bike, $5 passenger. Other events are from noon to 6 p.m. with music, raffle, face painting, bounce houses and horseback riding. April 4 Lion's Club Annual Pancake Breakfast (sausage, coffee, milk and juice) is from 6 a.m. to noon at Centre First Baptist Church's Recreational Outreach Center. Tickets are $6 and can be purchased at the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce office. Eat-in customers are all-you-can-eat. FEE FREE Canyon Mouth Park is fee-free until further notice (Little River Canyon Center is closed). CLOSINGS AND CANCELLATIONS Cherokee County Public Library - All regular programming for the Cherokee County Public Library has been cancelled until May. The Green Bag Program is rescheduled until April 16. Centre Career Center will be rescheduling at a later date. CCIDA - The April 1 meeting of the CCIDA has been cancelled. If you have any questions or concerns call 256-557-5724. COLLEGE - Auburn, Alabama, UAB, Jacksonville State and Gadsden State transitioned from on-campus instruction to remote delivery. Students enrolled in on-campus courses should not come to campus during this period of time. Lion's Club - Centre Lion's Club Pancake Breakfast has been postponed to a later date to be announced. Beaches - All private and public beaches are closed, including beach access points. Hospitals, Long Term Care, Specialty Care Facilities - Visitation is prohibited of all visitors and non- essential health care personnel, except for certain compassionate care situations such as maternity and end-of-life. Cherokee Health & Rehabilitation Center is starting video visits and face-to-face visits through glass as visitation has been restricted. Statewide through April 5 - All gatherings of 25 persons or more, or gatherings of any size that cannot maintain a consistent six-foot distance between persons, are prohibited. This Order applies to all gatherings, events or activities that bring 25 or more persons in a single room or single space at the same time. Any restaurant, bar, brewery or similar establishments shall not permit on-premise consumption of food or drink. Some eateries for take-out or delivery provided the social distancing protocols include maintaining a consistent six-foot distance between persons are followed.
